Are any Browns players worth drafting?

Browns won't shut OBJ down

This offseason the Browns decided to beef up there offense even more by signing big name players like Austin Hooper, and Jack Conklin. This adds more weapons for Baker Mayfield but hurts the fantasy production of key targets OBJ, Jarvis Landry, and Nick Chubb. Is it worth drafting these players in your draft's? Read below to find out my thoughts.

OBJ and Jarvis Landry:

This offseason the Browns decided to replace David Njoku at the TE1 spot with Austin Hooper which means there's more of a competition for targets. This will result in less targets  for Landry and OBJ which makes there fantasy value drop considerably. There's still obvious upside with the two stars but due to the share of targets between Hooper, Njoku, OBJ, and Landry I wouldn't consider OBJ nor Landry at your WR1 spot. OBJ should be taken around the mid 4th to late 5th rounds as a mid end WR2 with obvious WR1 upside. As for Landry he shouldn't be selected anywhere before the late 5th round as your low end WR2 or high end Flex option.

Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt:

The Browns haven't  upgraded the RB spot much this offseason besides resigning Kareem Hunt to a 1 year deal which hurts Chubbs value a lot. With Hunt back in the backfield that means Hunt will compete for carry's and targets with Chubb which completely changes Chubbs projected performance from last year. While Chubb is still the RB1 that doesn't mean Hunt can take more carry's from Chubb in the future. After all Hunt was the NFL rushing leader and was selected to the pro bowl in 2017. Due to the likely splitting of carry's between the two I don't recommend selecting Chubb anywhere before the mid to late second round as your mid end RB2 with RB1 upside, and for Hunt I wouldn't take him anywhere before the mid rounds as nothing above a mid Flex option or a great bench player.

Austin Hooper and David Njoku:

The Browns decided to completely revamp the TE position by signing top free agent Austin Hooper and drafting Harrison Bryant in the 4th round. The only player of this group I'd consider drafting is Austin Hooper. Hooper was the star TE of the falcons from 2016-2019 consistently providing great TE play. This season he signed with the Browns on a 4 year contract worth 44 million (23 million guaranteed). This year he has to compete for targets with the strong WR core of Landry and OBJ but he doesn't have much competition at the TE spot only having to compete with the disappointing David Njoku and rookie Harrison Bryant. I don't expect him to repeat anywhere near the numbers he did last year so due to that I wouldn't take Hooper until the mid to later rounds as a low end TE1 or high end bench TE.

Baker Mayfield:

Coming into the 2020 season the 2019 disappointing MVP candidate is the clear QB1 for the Browns. He's walking into the season with a revamped O Line and even more weapons then last year. If he can't succeed and lead the Browns to the playoffs I don't know if he ever will. This season I have high hopes for Mayfield hoping he can recover from last years disappointing season and produce high fantasy numbers for the 2020 season. I wouldn't take Baker Mayfield anywhere above the later rounds as your mid end QB2. You should not be drafting him as your QB1.
